Chương 7 Hoa Nở Chẳng Hạn Kỳ
Bất chợt được tin nhắn
Đón em ở phi trường
Tôi bàng hoàng nhìn ra ngoài
Nắng nhạt hãy còn vương
Trên cỏ úa, trên cành cây trụi lá
Bỗng nhiên như hoá đá
Là thật hay đang mơ
Ngước nhìn bầu trời cao vút, xanh lơ
Vài cụm mây trắng bay giữa chiều lãng đãng
Đã bao nhiêu năm tháng
Người biền biệt xa người
Đâu ai ngờ nay lại gặp em ơi
Như tia nắng ấm cho ngày đông lạnh giá
Lòng hồi hộp với niềm vui rộn rã
Chạy ngược chiều đua cùng cây cỏ ven đường
Hoàng hôn bao quanh khi tôi đến phi trường
Nơi cửa đến có lắm người qua lại
Nhìn rảo quanh để tìm người con gái
Của cánh đồng hoa vàng đã bặt tích từ lâu
Không ai nói một câu
Ngoài ánh mắt gọi ngàn lời thương nhớ
Ôm nhau trong vòng tay mà tôi cứ ngỡ
Giấc mơ hoa đêm xuân thắm hương nồng
Tôi đưa em đến quán rượu bờ sông
Nơi thuở trước đã vài lần lui tới
Ngồi bên dòng sông
Tựa người vào tôi như hoa chùm gởi
Đăm đắm nhìn lên chúm chím nụ cười
Bao năm rồi nụ hoa ấy vẫn rất tươi
Và vị ngọt như ngọt hơn bao giờ hết
Ly rượu cạn dần, trăng thu nhạt nét
Tôi dìu em về ngày cạn đêm vơi
Bao nhiêu tương tư trả hết cho người
Đêm đón nhận cơn bão tình đằm thắm
Tưởng gặp lại nói với nhau nhiều lắm
Nhưng bên nhau, lời nói bỗng dư thừa
Ánh trăng mờ xuyên cành lá lưa thưa
Đầu gối vai tôi như chú mèo ngái ngủ
Em không mở lời
Lòng tôi tự nhủ
Từ lúc quen em đầy những bất ngờ
Thôi cứ để cuộc tình đẹp tựa bài thơ
Như cánh đồng hoa vàng trong chiều lộng gió
Em ở đó và tôi cùng ở đó
Bước bên nhau cho đến lúc thu tàn

A Sporadic Blossom
Out of the blue, I got her purport
Asking me to see her at the airport
Puzzled, I looked out the window
The sun was still casting the last show
On the yellow grass and leafless trees
All seemed to freeze
In wondered if I was dreaming
No, the pasture of blue was still hanging
Across the sky white clouds were scattering
Many years have come and gone
No sign of hers couldn’t be called
Never expecting meeting her again
It was like warm sunlight on the winter plain
My heart pounded for joy has revived
Bushes on both sides of the road thrived.
The sun has set as I got to the air terminal
At the arrival gate, a crowd of passengers tried to call
I cast my eyes around searching for her
A girl of the old day from the field of yellow flower
Not having any utterance
Both looked at each other with winsome instance
Embracing her in my arm, I still felt amazed
As if it was a pie in the sky that seemed dazed
I walked her to a tavern along the river shore
Where we used to stop by for a score
Sitting by the riverside
She leaned herself against me like a parasite
Looking up and giving me a smile
For years, the look was so fresh
Whose scent and taste was best
Wine in brandy snifter ran low; the moon waned
I walked her home not long before daybreak
The lovesickness I had was all saved for her
The night witnessed my heartfelt love storm
And I thought I would show so much passionate form
But it turned out unneedful for either lover
The slight moonlit weakly sneaked through sparse leaves
As she leaned her head against my shoulder
No utterance could be heard
I consulted myself and wondered
Many surprises occurred during the time I knew her
I let my love go into the world that I dreamed
And follow the wind over the yellow field, that skimmed
Where she and I were wandering
We paced side-by-side till the fall was ending.
